Great Martyr’s Day and International Mother Language Day were celebrated at the Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico City with due dignity and solemnity in various arrangements.

Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico City organized a seminar on the occasion of Great Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day in collaboration with IPN on 20th February 2024. About 300 students including IPN Secretary General Prof. Mauricio Igor Haso Aranda, Academic Secretary Mr. Ismail Zaider Monter, Secretary of Innovation and Social Integration Ms. Yesica Gasca Castillo, Secretary of Education Services Mr. Marco Antonio Sosa Palacios were present.

The song of Ekush with the background of language movement was performed at the event.

During the discussion, the Honorable Ambassador of Iran Alireza Ghezili, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Nigeria Mrs. Eunice Gers Phillips-Umejurike, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Indonesia Mr. Bimo Ariawan, and Brazilian Minister-Counselor Luciano da-Costa Pereira de-Souza highlighted the current activities of their respective countries in defense of multilingualism.

Ambassador Abida Islam in her speech highlighted the origins of International Mother Language Day and the historical context of the 1952 language movement.

In the cultural part of the seminar, dance was performed along with Bengali songs. Finally, on the occasion of this day, Visitors enjoy a week-long exhibition of traditional Bangladeshi handicrafts at the IPN premises
