The US would support the reform measures of the interim government’s initiatives as an important partner of Bangladesh.

A U.S. delegation, led by Mr. Brent Neiman, Assistant Secretary for International Finance at the U.S. Department of Treasury called on the Foreign Adviser Mr. Md. Touhid Hossain at the State Guest House, Padma today. The US delegation also included Ambassador Mr. Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Mr. Brandon Lynch, Assistant U.S. Trade Representative and Ms. Anjali Kaur, Deputy Assistant Administrator of USAID.

The  Adviser apprised the US delegation about the reform measures the interim government has already initiated in many areas, including economy, governance, judiciary, labour and human rights. He hoped that the US would support those initiatives as an important partner of Bangladesh. He highlighted the need to strengthen bilateral trade relations for mutual benefit. The Rohingya related matters also featured in the discussions.
