Zambia has invited Bangladesh to explore opportunities for establishing a pharmaceutical plant in Zambia.

The newly appointed High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia to Bangladesh (resident in New Delhi), H.E. Mr. Percy P. Chanda, paid his inaugural visit to the Foreign Adviser, H.E. Mr. Md. Touhid Hossain, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka, on 30 January 2025.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance trade cooperation. They also explored potential areas for future collaboration between Zambia and Bangladesh.

High Commissioner Chanda expressed Zambia’s interest in importing Bangladeshi pharmaceutical products and invited Bangladesh to explore opportunities for establishing a pharmaceutical plant in Zambia. He also conveyed interest in importing jute and jute products from Bangladesh while highlighting the potential for Bangladesh to import copper from Zambia. Other potential areas of cooperation, including agriculture and contract farming, were also discussed.

The  Foreign Adviser wished High Commissioner Chanda success in his new role and assured him of the Government of Bangladesh’s support in fulfilling his duties and responsibilities.
