Bangladesh emphasized the need for boosting cooperation in education and sought Georgia’s assistance in enrolling more Bangladeshi students in higher education institutions in Georgia.

H.E. Mr. Vakhtang Jaoshvili, Ambassador of Georgia to Bangladesh based in New Delhi paid his first courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Md. Touhid Hossain, Foreign Adviser at the Adviser’s office this morning.

During their meeting, the Adviser and the Ambassador acknowledged the importance of further strengthening the relationship between Bangladesh and Georgia, which is grounded in shared values, principles, and mutual understanding. They expressed their commitment to enhancing bilateral ties across various areas of shared interest.

The  Adviser emphasized the need for boosting cooperation in education and sought the Ambassador’s assistance in enrolling more Bangladeshi students in higher education institutions in Georgia. He also highlighted the need to focus more on bilateral trade, investment, and economic collaboration.

The Georgian Ambassador expressed his desire to strengthen cultural ties between the two nations, particularly through increased engagement in the area of film and media. He also sought Bangladesh’s support for Georgia’s initiatives in the United Nations and other multilateral forums.

Both parties agreed to hold the next Bilateral Consultation soon.
