Bangladeshi singer-musician ,composer and Managing Director & CEO of Gaan Bangla Television Kaushik Hossain Taposh , Chairman of Gaan Bangla Television Farzana Munny received the prestigious Mother Teresa International Award – 2018 for their ‘Wind of Change- Music for Peace’ campaign.
Taposh and Munny received the award on Sunday at an awards programme held at Satyajit Ray Auditorium in Kolkata which was organised marking the 108th birth anniversary of late Nobel peace prize winning Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary Mother Teresa.
On Sunday, consumer affairs minister of West Bengal minister Shri Sadhan Pande handed over the award, in presence of educationist Dr Samuel Raj and Mother Teresa International Award committee chairman Anthony Arun Biswas.
Wind of Change- Music for Peace was a peace promoting campaign by Gaan Bangla TV where 55 local and foreign musicians from 23 countries spoke in support of worldwide peace and the role of music in promoting peace. The campaign was part of music show Wind of Change, which was aired on Gaan Bangla TV from first to fourth day of Eid-ul-Fitr in June.
Local singers like Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Sujit Mostafa, Rafiqul Alam, Kaushik Hossain Taposh, Kiran Chandra Roy, Kangalini Sufia, Shirin, Sumon, Makhon, Sahana Bajpaie, Haider Hossain, Agun, Minar and foreign instrumentalists including Gargo Barali (Hungary), Valeri (Switzerland), Daniel (Spain), Anna Weibe (Latvia), Shivamoni (India), Mekaal Hasan (Pakistan), Senan (Turkey), Rusalana (Ukraine), Anton (Russia) and others participated at the campaign.
Apart from, As a Best Singer and Music Director (Bangladesh) Mr.Taposh has won the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award -2018 from India in April.
