Bangladesh and the European Union successfully completed the two-day first introductory meeting in Dhaka in preparation for the negotiations on a Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

Bangladesh and the European Union successfully completed the two-day-long first introductory meeting in Dhaka on 06 November 2024 in the run up to the negotiations on a Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

This discussion marks a landmark in the historic bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and the European Union, as successful conclusion of this Comprehensive Partnership Agreement will elevate this relationship from a development-centric to that of a broad-based political partnership. Thus, Bangladesh remains robustly tuned to the EU towards a journey of immense possibilities of broad based cooperation.

Chief negotiators from both sides expressed their satisfaction on the substantive discussions as well as exchanged gifts as token of appreciation at the end of final session.
