The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is convening, in Jeddah, two meetings preparatory to the 14th regular session of the “Hand in Hand toward the Future” Islamic Summit.
The OIC Senior Officials held their meeting, in preparation for the Summit, on 27 May 2019, in the presence of Member States’ delegations and representatives to the Organization.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary for International and Multilateral Affairs, Mr Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, presided over the Senior Officials’ Meeting to discuss the Summit’s draft final communiqué, before referring it to the preparatory foreign ministerial meeting for the Summit.
Placed on the meeting’s agenda were the bureau election, adoption of the draft agenda and timetable for the preparatory foreign ministerial meeting and its documents.
The second preparatory meeting, gathering Member States’ foreign ministers, will take place in the same venue on 29 May 2019.
The Islamic Summit Conference will focus in its 14th session, in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, on the Palestinian cause and developments in the Arab, African and Asian regions. Cultural, economic, scientific, social and other matters of concern to the OIC Member Stateswill equally be discussed.
