The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms the crime of the execution by the Israeli occupation forces, on 23 /3/ 2025, in the Tel Sultan neighborhood of Rafah, of eight Palestinian Red Crescent and six civil defence personnel, in addition to a UN employee while carrying out their humanitarian tasks. A shocking video documented the crime, confirming the systematic and deliberate targeting by the Israeli occupation forces of workers in medical, humanitarian and UN institutions and Palestinian civilians, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.
In this regard, the OIC called for setting up an independent international commission of inquiry under the supervision of the UN Security Council to investigate this crime and all crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and to hold those responsible accountable, stressing the need for countries to take possible political, economic and legal measures against Israel, the occupying power, to force it to immediately and comprehensively cease-fire and to bring urgent humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the OIC also renewed its call on all States to implement the orders of the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court to accelerate their investigations into war crimes and genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and to activate international justice mechanisms to ensure the prosecution and punishment of perpetrators and end impunity.
