The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Youssef Al-Othaimeen, has strongly condemned the two separate attacks perpetrated by terrorists in the Centre-North of Burkina Faso, on Sunday 8 September 2019, that led to the death of around 29 people and injury of many others.
Denouncing these attacks, the Secretary General affirmed the OIC’s support for and solidarity with the Government of Burkina Faso in the measures Burkina Faso and its partners take against terrorism and extremism in Burkina Faso and in the Sahel region in general.
Al-Othaimeen extended his condolences to the families of the victims and the people and government of Burkina Faso over this tragedy, and reiterated the principled position of the OIC that vigorously denounces all acts of terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations.
