The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen, said the Organization seeks to promote its mediation capacities, apply the best mechanisms to address threats to peace and security, and contribute to regional and international efforts to promote conflict prevention and resolution, peace building and security.
Training in mediation is of great value for all junior diplomats, Dr Al-Othaimeen said in a statement delivered on his behalf by Ambassador Mahmood bin Muhammad al-Raissi, at the Mediation for Peace Certificate Program for Diplomats of the Member States of the OIC, organized by the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara, on 9-13 September 2019.
He went on, “The Mediation for Peace Certificate Program will best equip junior diplomats to mediate disputes and conflicts nationwide, regionally and internationally.”
