Foreign Minister Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen and Ghana’s Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey emphasized on increasing bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
In a side meeting of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly at the United Nations headquarters. They expressed hope for an increase in bilateral trade and investment between the two countries in the future.
At the meeting, Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, stressed the need for climate-prone countries to make a single decision to compensate for the damage caused by climate change and present it at the next climate conference.
Foreign Minister Dr. Momen reiterated Bangladesh’s leadership role in the Climate Vulnerable Forum on climate change issues and Bangladesh’s strong position to address climate change-related damages and emphasized on the launch of the ‘Loss and Damage Fund’.
In recent years, the foreign minister highlighted the incredible development in the socio-economic field of Bangladesh. Momen urged investors to take up attractive investment opportunities in Bangladesh, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector.
The Foreign Minister of Ghana requested the establishment of a Bangladesh Mission in Ghana or the appointment of an Honorary Consul General. Dr. Momen invited the Foreign Minister of Ghana to visit Bangladesh.
