Active and colourful participation of the Embassy of Bangladesh, Seoul in the “Itaewon Global Village Festival 2019.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul actively participated in the “Itaewon Global Village Festival 2019” held in Itaewon, Yongsan in association with the South Korean government from 12 – 13 October 2019. Itaewon is considered as the ‘tourist area’ and a total of 37 countries including Bangladesh participated in this international festival this year. The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul participated in the “World Handicraft Fair” and “World Cultural Organization” of the international festival. The festival was open to the public daily from 11am to 7.30pm.

Mayor of Yongsan Mr. Jang Hyun-Song formally inaugurated the festival on 12^th October 2019 in the presence of ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of the participating countries. The Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of Korea was also present during the opening ceremony.

 Dressed in traditional and colorful Bangladeshi attire with drums, festoons and national flag, the children along with all the members of the Embassy of Bangladesh participated in the “Global Parade” at 3pm, which attracted the attention of Koreans as well as the foreign nationals’ present there.

 In addition, at the “World Handicraft Fair”, traditional handicrafts like bamboo and jute goods, wooden flute, latim, hand fans, nakshikat has, wooden dolls, and puppets including leaflets on the touristic attractions and investment opportunities were distributed in the Bangladesh handicrafts stalls. A large number of visitors visited Bangladesh stall and show their deep interest in various products.

The colorful and stunning participation of Bangladesh at the “Itaewon Global Village Festival 2019” won the hearts and minds of the visitors. It seems that visitors are getting increasingly attracted towards different Bangladeshi products which will further strengthen the cultural and commercial ties between Bangladesh and the Republic of Korea in the coming days.
