Ambassador Tareque Muhammad presented his credentials to Fernando Arias, the Director-General of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on 9 September 2024. This significant event marks the beginning of his role as the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the OPCW, where he will work closely with the organization in promoting global chemical safety and disarmament. Bangladesh is serving as a member of the Executive Council for the term 2024-2026 in the OPCW.
