Ahead of first Summit of the P4G (Partnership for Growth and Global Goals 2030) to be held in Copenhagen on 19-20 October 2018, Bangladesh Embassy in Copenhagen organised a business networking event at the Chancery today.
Senior Secretary, Ministry of LGRD S.M. Ghulam Farooque, Managin Director, WASA Taqsem Ahmed Khan, Professor G. M. Tarekul Islam of BUET, delegates from Bangladesh private and public sectors, representatives from around 30 Danish companies dealing with energy, water, food and IT sectors, among others, potential investors and Danish Foreign Ministry officials attended the event. The programme was intended to augment interactions between private and public sectors of the two countries to advance solutions in the areas of food and agriculture, water, energy, cities and circular economy.
It may be mentioned here that P4G is the new international green initiative launched with the ambition of becoming the world’s leading forum for developing concrete public-private partnerships to deliver on, inter alia, SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. Bangladesh has decided to join the initiative. Foreign Minister A.H. Mahmood Ali is going to lead the Bangladesh delegation to the Summit.
