On the occasion of Bangladesh’s great Independence and National Day 2024, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Riyadh organized a reception on the evening of March 4 at the Cultural Center located in the Diplomatic Quarter. Deputy Governor of Riyadh. Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al Sudairi was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Abdul Majid bin Rashid Al Samari, Deputy Minister of the Protocol Department of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khaled Mohammad Al Bawardi, Chairman of the Saudi Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship Committee, members of the Shura Council, senior officials of various ministries of Saudi Arabia and representatives of the Chamber attended the reception. The reception was attended by ambassadors and diplomats from various missions in Riyadh. Besides, more than a hundred migrants of different professions including doctors, engineers, teachers, and businessmen of the Bangladesh community joined the event.
Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwari expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Saudi King and Crown Prince for the employment of Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia. He said that Saudi Arabia’s relationship with Bangladesh has reached a new height today, and he expressed hope that in the coming days, business, investment, education, health, agriculture, human resources, and environment will continue to grow. The ambassador reiterated Bangladesh’s support for peace and stability in Saudi Arabia and the Bangladesh government’s solidarity with its fraternal people.
Ambassador said, that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the privileged daughter of the Father of the Nation, Bangladesh is advancing at an unstoppable speed on the highway of development. Delta Plan has already been adopted for the formation of future Bangladesh. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, work is underway to become a developed and smart Bangladesh by 2041.
National anthems of Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh were played at the beginning of the program. Enchanting party dances and exhibitions of Bangladeshi handicrafts were organized with the participation of students of Bangladesh International School, Riyadh. The foreign guests expressed their excitement to get acquainted with the Bangladeshi culture by attending the event. As the Great Independence Day falls in the holy month of Ramadan this year, the reception was organized on Monday.
