The Embassy of Bangladesh in Khartoum organized programs on the occasion of the 72nd birth anniversary of Shaheed Capt. Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a valiant freedom fighter, at the chancery today on 05 August 2021 in the presence of members of the community and Embassy officials.
The program commemorates the life and works of Shaheed Capt. Sheikh Kamal and special down and munajat were offered for the salvation of his soul and the peace and prosperity of the country. A video on the life and accomplishment of Shaheed Capt. Sheikh Kamal was presented before the audience. In his speech, the Charge d’Affaires highlighted the contribution of Shaheed Capt. Sheikh Kamal in the independence war and in developing sports and cultural infrastructure in a newly borne country. He paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the architect of the country, Bangladesh. Some 30-35 expatriate Bangladeshis attended the program organized at the chancery which was rented only a day before.
The community members expressed their gratefulness to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh for opening a resident mission in Khartoum and were proud of attending the first-ever official program in the Bangladesh Embassy in Khartoum. Some photos of the program are enclosed.
