Foreign Minister Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen expressed his deep condolences over the loss of lives by the massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti.
In a message sent to the Foreign Minister of Haiti Claude Joseph, Dr. Momen conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, relatives, and friends of the departed souls during the earthquake. He wished quick recovery to those who have been badly affected by the deadly earthquake.
‘‘My thoughts and prayers are with your government and the people of Haiti at this difficult time,’’ Dr. Momen added. He hoped that the country would soon be able to overcome the impact of the catastrophe.
‘‘Bangladesh has been ravaged by natural disasters time and again, but we have overcome these calamities with strong leadership and resilience of the people,’’ the Foreign Minister mentioned.
