Acting Australian High Commissioner Nardia Simpson today welcomed Mr Nirmol Rozario and Bhikkhu Sunandapriya, leaders of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, at the Australian High Commission, where they discussed the hopes and concerns of religious minority groups across Bangladesh.
Acting High Commissioner Simpson said she welcomed the recent statement by Prof Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim Government of Bangladesh, which reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to national unity, universal human rights and zero tolerance for discrimination on the basis of religion, ethnicity and political belief.
