Government of India has been supporting various development projects in Bangladesh in sectors such as education, health, water, culture, urban development, disaster management, etc. So far, 36 projects amounting to BDT 126.36 crores have been completed under Indian grant assistance, which include construction of students’ hostels, cultural centers, orphanages etc., and 45 projects are currently under implementation with an outlay of around BDT 1500 crores.
The High Commission of India today signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for three new development projects under Indian grant assistance. The projects include construction of a 4-storey college building in Kashinagar Degree College, Chouddagram, Comilla; construction of a 5-storey student hostel in Chandpur; and construction of a 2-storey girls’ hostel in Mirzapur, Tangail. The total cost of these projects is BDT 7.71 Crore. The projects will be fully funded by Government of India.
