As in the past, the High Commission of India, Dhaka is pleased to announce the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarships for the academic session 2019-20. The scholarships are awarded to meritorious Bangladeshi nationals to pursue various courses in India at the Under Graduate, Post Graduate and PhD level, except in Medicine. Over 3500 ICCR Scholarships have been granted to Bangladeshi nationals by the Government of India till date.
Candidates are required to have proficiency in English and should have secured minimum 60 percent marks or GPA 3 out of 5/GPA 2.50 out of 4 in the last qualifying examinations. ICCR has developed a portal exclusively for the benefit of the aspiring students who may log on URL http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/home and create individual login ID and password before submitting the applications online. Applicants are requested to apply online individually after reading the instructions carefully. While applying, candidates may please note the following:
- a) The candidate/s who are applying for BE/B Tech. courses should have studied Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry in their school leaving examinations.
- b) Applicants should be at least 18 years of age by July 2019.
- c) As per ICCR rules, all students will have to stay in the hostels. No exception for family/health reasons to stay outside is entertained.
- d) Applicants are advised to apply only once. If any applicant is noticed applied more than one time, his/her application shall be summarily rejected.
- e) Students applying for M. Phil/Doctoral/Post-Doctoral courses should submit synopsis along with the application.
- f) Students applying for performing arts/fine arts should upload latest video, audio, youtube link of their performance or a portfolio of their art work, as the case may be, while applying.
- g) Candidates must upload their color photograph (front face without spectacles) with white background.
Please note that the last date of submission of online application forms on the a2a portal http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/home is 1700 hours on Friday, February 08, 2019.
- The exact date and venue of a mandatory English Proficiency Test (EPT), which will be of 30 minutes duration, would be intimated to eligible applicants in due course.
