The UAE Embassy in Dhaka celebrated the 51st National Day on Thursday amid great festivities and enthusiasm.
On the occasion, the Embassy held a grand reception at a city hotel. Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas EmploymentMinisterImran Ahmad attended the reception as the chief guest.
Ministers, Ambassadors, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Members of Parliament, High government officials, business persons, media personalities, and personalities from academic and social institutions also attended the ceremony.
A feeling of total joy swept over the audience as H.E. Abdulla Ali ALHmoudi, UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh along with the guests, took to the stage to inaugurate the celebration amid thunderous applause.
The National Day celebrations brought a taste of home to the members of the UAE community in Bangladesh.
In his welcome speech, H.E. Abdulla Ali AlHmoudi mentioned the UAE’s remarkable achievements of the UAE over the past 50 years. The UAE envoy also highlighted the glorious journey of UAE ties with Bangladesh since independence.
On this historic occasion, Abdulla Ali AlHmoudi said, UAE and Bangladesh enjoy deep-rooted historical relations since 1971 and both of our governments strengthened the bilateral relations in various sectors.
The ties between the UAE and Bangladesh are based on the principles of cooperation and mutual respect and the partnership between the two countries and peoples that have reached a new height in recent years. The mutual visits of the leaders and officials of the two countries, and the ever-increasing levels of trade, economic and cultural exchange, are powerful indicator that stands witness to the strength of bilateral relations in various fields.
The UAE is one of the most resilient countries globally in handling and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic as the country turns challenges into opportunities the UAE has ranked 11th on the nation brand index due to our successful handling of Covid-19 and pioneering achievements in science and education, such as the successful Emirates Mars Mission.
The UAE supports diplomacy over conflict, partnership over unilateralism, and dialogue over confrontation. The UAE believes that the world cannot tolerate more polarization and confrontation and that the coming decades need more communication, integration, and cooperation in the political, economic, technological, health and food fields.
As a chief guest of this program Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed said, Bangladesh and UAE enjoy the age-old fraternity and time-tested friendship. These historical ties had further been strengthened and deepened over time with religious, and cultural commonalities and economic cooperation.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also spoke at the program.
