Mr. Archil Dzuliashvili, Ambassador of Georgia to Bangladesh with residence in New Delhi, called on Foreign Minister Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen, M.P. at the latter’s office this morning.
The Georgian Ambassador discussed with the Foreign Minister on various aspects on bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Georgia. Foreign Minister expressed happiness at the existing friendly relations and bilateral engagements between the two countries and stressed on further strengthening the existing relations by expanding areas of cooperation for the mutual benefits of the two countries. He stressed on the promotion of trade and investment between the two countries, especially in areas like pharmaceuticals, ready-made garments (RMG), agricultural products, ceramics etc. Both of them also agreed to enhance cooperation in the agriculture sector.
Apart from the bilateral issues, the two sides also exchanged views on international issues of common interest. The elections in different International Organization of UN including Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and International Organization for Migration (IMO) were also discussed. Foreign Minister briefed the Georgian Ambassador about the recent development of the Rohingya issue and sought support of the Georgian government in this regard.
