Under G2G agreement, the contract signing ceremony for procurement of K-8W Jet Trainer aircraft between Bangladesh Air Force and China was held at Air Headquarters on Wednesday ( 20-06-2018).
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc was present in the ceremony. The contract was signed by Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) Air Vice Marshal M Sanaul Huq, OSP, GUP, ndc, psc and Mr Liu Jianhai, Vice President of CATIC on behalf of Bangladesh and China respectively. Among others, PSOs of Air Headquarters, Senior BAF officers, representative from AFD and MOFA were present in the ceremony. Ambassador of People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh Mr. Zhang-Zuo and President CATIC also graced the ceremony.
Mentionable that, BAF has been flying K-8W Jet Trainer aircraft since 2014. Further acquisition of K-8W aircraft will certainly enhance and uplift the training capability of BAF. This contract is signed as a part of implementation process of Forces Goal-2030.
